The Parish of San Publju in Floriana, together with the Associazione Publju ta’ Malta, has announced the start of the First Saturday of Saint Publius celebrations as part of the spiritual preparation for the titular feast.
The initiative will take place on Saturday 21 February 2026 at the Archpriest Church of Saint Publius in Floriana. This marks the beginning of a series of monthly devotions dedicated to the patron saint, leading up to the parish’s principal feast.
The programme for the evening will begin at 6.30pm with Holy Mass, followed by the reading of the Kurunella and the imparting of the Sacramental Blessing. During the function, a commemorative holy card will also be distributed to those in attendance.
The First Saturday devotion forms part of the parish’s wider spiritual journey in preparation for the festa titulari, offering parishioners and devotees an opportunity for prayer and reflection centred on Saint Publius. The collaboration between the parish and the Associazione Publju ta’ Malta highlights the shared commitment to honouring the patron saint through structured liturgical celebrations in the months ahead.
